About Me

As a writer, I feel obligated to have a blog. As a procrastinator, it's taken me a while to actually create one. I've always liked the idea to have a space to yell into the void of the internet, yet when it came to content I struggled. So here I am, a fresh and new writer of sci-fi and superhero stories, delving into the world of blogs.

The new optimism in me insists I'll keep this space up to date and filled with reviews, tips and general writing themed posts. The old cynicism insists that none of this will happen, and this will unfortunately fade to the back of my mind.

The details of an 'about me' section are always a grey area for me; how much detail do you go into? Do they want to see the kind of things I write, the things I like (music, collecting vinyls, binge-watching Netflix when I should be writing), how my life is going (decent enough despite the pandemic)? Or do they want to know blood type (??), star sign (Leo) and the possible name of a future first born ([redacted])?

An 'about me' section should reflect you as a person, not a writer. Readers can grasp what kind of writer you are, oddly enough, from your writing. But an idea on who you are as a person can be harder to present; this blog will try and capture who I am as a whole.

I won't shy away from politics (I don't have that privilege), I will comment on the things important to me (LGBTQ+ topics, music, film/TV) and I shall try to remain as opinionated as possible since that is just as important as being unbiased.
However, since I'm not the BBC, bias is a thing I'm allowed to embrace.
